    What We Do About Food

Most people can name what’s wrong with their diet before anyone measures anything. That’s why we don’t hand every client a tracking app on day one. We gear food the same way we gear training, with as much detail as the person in front of us needs and no more, because detail that doesn’t change behaviour is just admin.

If someone asks me whether quinoa or bulgar wheat is the better choice, one of two things is true. They’re already excellent, and the fine detail is the only thing left to work on. Or they’re hitting three bottles of wine and a kebab at the weekend, and the answer to their question doesn’t matter yet. The second situation is far easier to spot than people expect, and it takes no data at all.

Some people do want the specifics. Weighed portions and logged meals, with a proper set of numbers to work against. For them it works, because they’ll use what the numbers tell them. Others make more progress from a handful of broad changes and regular conversations about what they’re eating and why. We run a food plan at both levels of detail, and we decide which one suits you after we’ve met you.

What we watch for is the spreadsheet that fills in beautifully while nothing changes. Tracking earns its place by improving behaviour. When it stops doing that, it has become a hobby.

Food support is built into the programme here, at whatever level of detail suits how you actually live. If you want to know what that would look like for you, come and see the space and talk it through with a coach at our private Wimbledon gym. Reach out at info@dnpt.co.uk or send us a message.
